Mitchell Allen Blackwell, 77, of Spartanburg, SC died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at his home.

Born March 18, 1935, in Greenville, TN, son of the late A. B. and Ruby Hixon Blackwell.

Retired from Mitch Blackwell Masonry after 40 years of service, was a member of Hejaz Shriners, and of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his son, Mitchell Shell Blackwell (1932–2021) and his wife, Tandy; daughter-in-law, Wendy Blackwell; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Also predeceased by his wife, Miriam King Blackwell 1936–1999; sons, Stephen Scott Blackwell (1957–2012) and Terry Allen Blackwell (1959–2012); and a daughter, Karen Joy Blackwell (1956–1956).

Graveside service conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 28, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. Bill Bethea.

Memorials could be made to Tidewater Hospice, Spartanburg, SC.
