Edinburg man is killed; two teens hurt in crash

Mr. Cecil was employed at the Phelps Drug Store and the Morgan County Hospital at Martinsville, and was formerly employed by Hooks Drug Company in Franklin. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Holy Trinity Church, with the Rev. Fr. Richard Zore officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mutz Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Cecil was born in Bardstown, Kentucky, on April 13, 1917, the son of Chester and Stella Young Cecil. The mother survives, residing in Indianapolis.

On October 11, 1946, he was married to Betty Thurston. Surviving with the widow are six children, Lucy, Frances II, Jan, Kevin, Cynthia and Peggy, all at home.

Also surviving are six sisters, Beatrice Waltman, Beverly Braun, Shirley Skelley, Carol Brady, Mary Kay Norris, Margie Shields, all of Indianapolis and Betty Casady of Grosse Point, Michigan.

Four brothers also survive, Arthur, James, Joseph and Gerald Cecil, all of Indianapolis.
