Diane Olson, 61, of Gwinn, died on April 21, 2019 at her favorite place in the world, her home on the lake, following a lengthy illness.
Diane was born on November 30, 1957 in Ishpeming to Arthur G. and Marion F. (Peterson) Olson and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1975. She and her husband, Warren Shamlian, operated a small business in Palm Springs, California until his death in 2010 at which point Diane returned to the area.
Diane loved the outdoors and enjoyed watching and feeding the wildlife at her home.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Arthur Olson, her husband Warren, and her sister Wendy Olson. She is survived by her mother, Marion Olson, siblings – Arthur Neil Olson (Val), Ellen (Dave Poirier) Symons, Roger (Maureen) Olson, and Paul Olson (Shawn), her very close friend Tamara Hall, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her beloved dogs: BJ, Rabbit and Girlie.
