On Saturday, April 20, 2019, Kate Morgret loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 80.
Kate was born 1939, in Greenville, Texas, to Harvey and Dorothy (Henderson) Anderson. She started work in a Waco branch of NCR Corporation in 1959, shortly after her first marriage to Robert W. Carson. When told she was equally qualified to be a secretary or a systems analyst, she thought the second one sounded interesting and her 19 year career programming and installing financial systems began. In 1961, she gave birth to daughter Christi Morgret, and returned immediately to work in the absence of maternity leave. Kate parted amicably from her first marriage in 1967. She met her second husband J Francis Morgret and married in May of 1973. In 1978, she moved on to greener pastures at AT&T, where she was one of the few members of management who had ever worked in a competitive sales environment, and the analyst became one of the most successful sales leaders in the region. She retired in 1989 to live with her husband in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in Placerville.
Kate enjoyed traveling, photography, a good tearjerker movie, television crime dramas and most of all, animals. The home was never without a dog, and her favored charity was the Wildcat Sanctuary of Sandstone, Minn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a contribution be made there in her name.
Kate was preceded in death by J Francis Morgret, her beloved husband of 46 years, in September of 2017; and is survived by their daughters, Christi Lynn Morgret and Lisa Morgret Boser; and granddaughter Sarah Boser.
