She was a member of the Gainesville Rose Society and Wesley United Methodist Church Gainesville. She also enjoyed eating out weekly with her friends. She grew many award winning roses and shared them with others. She loved gardening, attending to her many flowers, and bird watching. Her mind was sharp until her passing and she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. However, the thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family at every opportunity.
She is survived by her daughter, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 3 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Thomas, daughter Margaret Moratto, son Robert Hardee, sisters Carolyn Allen and Alice Huegel. She wanted to thank granddaughter Donna and daughter Susan for their love, care, and friendship for many years.
By her wishes a graveside service will be held at Forest Meadows Cemetery East 3700 SE Hawthorne Rd in Gainesville, Florida on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Gainesville Rose Society (21465 NW 39th Terrace, Micanopy, FL 32667), Wesley United Methodist Church (826 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609), or Haven Hospice (4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606).
