Morris Reed Pace Sr., 87, of Springfield, Mo., died in his home March 28 surrounded by his loving family, after a long, courageous battle with lymphoma. Morris was born January 3, 1920, in Carthage, Mo., to Abbey Louella and David Arthur Pace. He was united in marriage in 1940 to Gloria Frazier. They had five children, Morris Reed Pace Jr., Springfield, Mo., Deloris Ann Herdrick, Springfield, Mo., Wayne Pace and wife, Nancy, Las Vegas, Nev., Jane Sharick and husband, Ron, Nixa, Mo., and Stanley Pace and wife, Laura, Nixa, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, John Pace, Corpus Christi, Texas, Patti Florczack, Batesville, Ark., Kip Herdrick, Sacramento, California, Jennifer Anderson, Austin, Texas, Chris Pace, Springfield, Mo., Will Herdrick, Denver, Colo, Jeri Wilson, Kansas City, Mo., Nikki Prosser, Springfield, Mo., Steven Sharick, Ozark, Mo., Jessica Burdick, Bolivar, Mo., Michael Pace, Nixa, Mo.; and 17 great-grandchildren. Morris was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Tom, Pete, Raymond, Don and Charles; sisters, Virginia and Mary Alice; and daughter-in-law, Judith Edgar Pace. Morris loved his family dearly. He was looked up to and admired by all of his family. He was always thought of as an honest, hard-working, gentle man, whose first priority was to take care of his family. He loved gardening, birds, the great outdoors, and the St. Louis Cardinals. But most of all he loved his wife of 66 years, "Glora". His body has been cremated and there will be a private family service at a later date.
