Joseph “Joey” Glenn Stone, 32, passed on Saturday, May 4, 2019, after a valiant fight against Grade IV glioblastoma multiform.

Joey was born on August 3, 1986, in Brenham, Texas. He married the love of his life, Mwana, on December 29, 2016, in Houston, Texas. His life was adventurous, and he lived many in his short time on this Earth. He eventually found his calling as a salesman at Gallery Furniture. Joey was an exemplary employee who could convince anyone to buy just about anything. He was respected by his colleagues and led by example with his stellar work ethic. Beyond his work accomplishments, he has also been known as a friend, comedian, volunteer, confidant, and, in another life, even a musician.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Juan and Micaela Cantu; his uncle Mike Cantu; and his cousins’ two children, J.J. and Lilly Poffenberger. He is survived by his wife, Mwana Stone; his mother and father, Connie and Richard Cantu; his brother and his partner, Travis Stone and Rachel Richardson; his sister and her husband, Amanda and David Thompson and their daughter, Della Grace; and his brother, Rick Cantu. He has also left behind his mother- and father-in-law, Idi Rashidi and Mariam Jumapili; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Melina Idi, Sabiti Sefu, Matala Idi, Rashidi Idi, Asani Idi, Jasmin Idi; and his nephew Ethan Hakeem Idi.

The funeral will be held on May 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S Kirkwood, Stafford Tx 77477, with the burial following afterward at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
