Heberto “Cowboy” Hinojosa, a resident of Angleton for over 60 years, surrounded by his family passed away peacefully on May 8, 2019. Cowboy is survived by his devoted loving wife of 66 years Maria Hinojosa and their 7 children Heberto Hinojosa Jr. (Ma. Elena), Martha Romero (Gustavo), Elsa Lujan (Juan), Mario Hinojosa (Iliana) Jesus “Chuy” Hinojosa (Santos), all of Angleton, Alma Garcia (Ovidio Jr.) of Mercedes, and Tomas Hinojosa (Ma. Lourdes) of Roma, 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Cowboy is also survived by his 2 daughters Tanya Lindsey and Tina Lilley (Robert) both of Freeport, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Cowboy is also survived by siblings Fidencio Hinojosa, Dora Ramirez, Irene Salinas, Roberto Hinojosa, and Santos Hinojosa and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Gustavo “Gus” Romero, Juan Romero, Heberto “Tito” Hinojosa, Jesus “Chuyito” Hinojosa, Jose Hinojosa, and James Lamb, honorary pallbearers are Emilio Hinojosa, Eduardo Romero, Ricardo Lujan, and Luis Hinojosa. Cowboy was a gentle and generous man. He began his concrete business in the early 70s and many have worked for him. He would give anyone who wanted to work a job. He was also known for helping out those in need and would never hesitate when someone asked for help. Cowboy loved baseball he helped form and founded the Angleton Kings. Cowboy will never be forgotten he has left his mark on Earth and now he is paving a golden concrete driveway up in Heaven preparing a place for his wife and family. It is not good bye, but just see you later – adios Abuelito.
Funeral arrangements at Palms Funeral Home are visitation Sunday May 12, 2019 from 1-5:45pm; Rosary at 5:45. Funeral Mass will be on Monday May 13, 2019 at Holy Trinity Church in Angleton at 10:30 internment to follow at the Angleton Cemetery.
