JaNae Friedli
August 11, 1934 – May 4, 2019
Born Mary JaNae Greene Friedli but lovingly referred to by friends and family as JaNae was a sweet friend and glorious grandma. She proved daily just how much she cared for family from a young age, as the oldest of five children and spunky she often helped her younger siblings learn the tough lessons of life. She made great friends wherever she worked and even met the love of her life, Milton Leigh Friedli working alongside friends in the Logan Utah hospital. As a mother JaNae has always been and will eternally be able to love through the toughest of circumstance. With three boys and one girl stirring up trouble she adapted her parenting to often include predictable habits of punishment everyone laughs about to this day! As JaNae’s kids grew to have children of their own she often spent time with her grandchildren taking them to house of The Lord and teaching them about genealogy. JaNae has always loved learning about her ancestors and the early pioneers becoming actively involved in The Daughters of Utah Pioneers camps wherever she lived. JaNae never thought much for retirement and filled her time with the kind of jobs that pay in smiles. As a pink lady in the Payson Hospital JaNae helped families on their worst day to feel a little hope or smile a little brighter. Her beautiful blue eyes were always hopeful and believing that sometimes the worst situation can become the largest blessing. In all her support of the community no commitment was greater than that she had for The Peteetneet Museum and Cultural Arts Center and Payson Historical Society she was and will always be a fan of Payson Utah’s heritage. When JaNae wasn’t out and about volunteering she was learning new things as an active member of the Cultus Club or watching the birds in her yard. The many bird feeders and bird bath in her yard were put there to bring joy to both her and her husband. JaNae and Milt would sit together on the porch well into the evening watching the birds and the sunset their entire marriage. Her family will miss the many stories she shared and her love of Apples to Apples at a family party. We can all find comfort in JaNae’s example of faith and watch the sunset now in her memory. The Friedli family would like to sincerely thank JaNae’s multiple doctors nurses and CNAs that assisted her towards the end of this mortal life.
An intimate ceremony will be held at the Smithfield Utah Cemetery where JaNae’s body will be laid alongside her parents Ralph and Ethel Greene Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2 pm.
