I was shocked and devastated to get the very sad call from my cousin Steve, letting me know that our little cousin, Karen Bauer from San Antonio had just passed away. She was blessed with a beautiful daughter she absolutely adored, Aubree Claire.
Even though it’s been years since we were all together at Mama’s (my grandmothers) for Easter, those were some of the best family get-togethers I’ve remembered. When Karen, her brothers and sisters and Steve and his sister Lisa(RIP LisaJanuary, 2015), were all there (with any of the other cousins that also made it) there was never a dull minute! We were all close in age-first and second cousins I loved being with Karen’s big family. The Easter Bunny always found us no matter where we were- Alto Texas or Toledo Bend Lake! I got to experience the sibling thing first hand, with all of them. You can pick on each other, but nobody else better pick on any of you Also, that your cousins really are the first “friends” you make and never forget, you hold dear like best friends.. no matter how far away or how often (or not) you talk to them.
Karen’s brother, Hal passed away ten days before she was born at 7 years old. Her sister, Kristi, passed away December 29 2013. Her mother, Sally, my first cousin, has been through so much but remains strong and steadfast in love and faith and is blessed by Mark, Staci, Kevin, Son-in-Law Paul and her grandchildren Aubree, Devan and Hayden and his two twins.
They surround each other now at this difficult time and always.
The greatest of these is Love
Life is Precious and Short
RIP sweet Karen Elizabeth Bauer

Her mother told me she was so loved and well thought of at her daughters school, The Christian School at Castle Hills in San Antonio, her Memorial Tribute Service was held there May 5, 2018.
Karen always brought many smiles to her loving friends and co-workers. In Heaven there is no suffering or grieving, only Love and Joy!
We Love You Karen-
Never Forgotten
