Mr. James Anthony "Tony" Witt age 89 of McMinnville, TN, died Friday, May 03, 2019, at his residence. He was born July 02, 1929, in Chattanooga, TN, was of the Methodist faith, and retired from Sears as a TV repairman. He entered the Army Air Corps working in communications, served in the Vietnam War, and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant.
Mr. Witt was preceded in death by his parents William Owen and Grace Allen Witt, wife Peggy Fay Shankles Witt, son James "Jimmy" Anthony Witt, Jr., daughter Andrea Susan Hill, brother Norman Douglas Witt, sister Betty Jo Witt Hixson, half-brothers William Owen Witt, Jr. and James Eugene Witt, and half-sisters Lorene Sue Witt Salter and Catherine Witt Cope.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 07, 2019, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Jamie Hill will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military Grave Rites will be administered by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
