Mrs. Corilla Shearer
The body of Mrs. Corilla Shearer, 99 years old, who died at the home of her niece, Mrs. M. C. Clayton of Mountain Lake Park, was interred at Barton on Tuesday beside her husband David D. Shearer at Laurel Hill cemetery. Rev. Lee Williams of near Hagerstown, a nephew officiated. Mrs. Shearer, a native of Frederick county, is survived by two sisters, Miss Ellen D. Hearn of Hensaw, Nebr., who was 100 years old last January and Mrs. Margaret J. Grove, of Fairmont, W. Va., who is 97.

After the death of Mr. Shearer at Barton more than 25 years ago Mrs. Shearer made her home with her sister, Mrs. Katherine Duvall at Mount Airy. When Mrs. Duvall died Mrs. Shearer went to Fairmont to live, but spent her summers at Mountain Lake Park. In former years Mrs. Shearer taught school. Her mind was clear to the last. She was a daughter of John and Charlotte Hearn and her girlhood was spent in the Linganore Valley. Three sisters preceded her in death with three brothers George, Thomas and Jesse Hearn, all of whom lost their lives in the war between the States. The Shearers had no children.
