MAYSVILLE — Joyce Ann Gilbert, 80, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Joyce was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Maysville to the late Roy and Lesta Fleming O’Daire.
She was a former employee of US Shoe and had also worked as a cook for Jones Elementery and the Maysville Rotary Club and in recent years she was the caregiver to her late husband, Eugene Gilbert. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Timothy (Susan) Gilbert; six grandchildren, Michael (Scarlett) Gilbert, Heather (Chuck Kirk) Gilbert, Trista (Robert) Logan, Matthew (Nicole) Gilbert, Shawn (Jodi) Gilbert and Angie Brant; 15 great-grandchildren, Mercedes Gilbert, Minerva Kirk, Gavin Gilbert, Jaylen Tolle, Hunter Gilbert, Chaeli Silvers, Makynna Gilbert, Olivia Kirk, Carson Barbour, Owen Gilbert, Ariana Gilbert, Isaiah Wallingford, Kinsley Gilbert and Eli Gilbert and Andrew Brant.; a brother, Albert (Barbara) O’Daire; sister-in-law, Nancy Gilbert; nephews, Michael Lawrence and Jason O’Daire; and a niece, Becky Farr.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Wayne Gilbert; and a sister, Jean Lawrence.
Services for Joyce Gilbert will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Burton officiating.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Michael Gilbert, Matthew Gilbert, Shawn Gilbert, Hunter Gilbert, Chuck Kirk, Gavin Gilbert, Jaylen Tolle and Robert Logan.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
