He was born May 28, 1888, in Augusta County, a son of the late James C. and Fannie Montgomery Nutty.
Mr. Nutty was a gardener and a member of Grubert Avenue Church of God.
Survivors include one son, Fay Nutty of Staunton; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Furr and Miss Edith Nutty, both of Staunton; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
His wife, Mrs. Ida Florence Swortzel Nutty, preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 1955.
A service was to be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Grubert Avenue Church of God by the Rev. Wayne Collier and the Rev. Jay Morgan. Burial will be in Hildebrand Mennonite Cemetery near Madrid.
Active pallbearers were John Hamblin, Frank Lawhorne, Gordon Mullins, Frank Keeney, James Marcum and Jesse Fitzgerald.
Honorary pallbearers were men of Grubert Avenue Church of God.
