Having a passion for knowledge, he received his doctorate degree at the University of Utah, was an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at Yale University, and work on various aspects of the missile systems at Hercules Bacchus Works. Following his retirement from Hercules, he worked as a contractor, designing optics testing facilities until 2008.
Sharing his passion for hunting, fishing many other outdoor activities with his family which he loved, Russell enjoyed cooking and learning new techniques and recipes.
His children: Todd (Kim) Jensen, Laura (Dean) Workman, and Kim Rioux; his stepchildren: Randy (Chris) Dayton, Brad Dayton, Denise (Robert) Wiley, and Mark (Deanne) Ashbocker will remember his sense of fun, humor and kindness.
