Edwin Bert Barrett, 88, of Pavo, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his residence. Graveside Services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 11:00am with Rev. Olan Cain officiating. Visitation will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Mr. Barrett was born in Grady County, GA to the late Paul Barrett & Evie Miller Barrett on September 5, 1930. He married Sarah Ann Johnson Barrett in Thomasville on June 26, 1954. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for 42 years as a Supervisor of the Energy Control Center with the Thomasville Water & Light Dept. He was a Member of Antioch Baptist Church where he was also a Deacon. He was a Mason and Member of Thomasville #369 F & AM Lodge. Survivors include, his wife, Sarah J. Barrett of Pavo, GA, sons, Dennis Barrett (Tina) of Pelham, GA, Jeff Barrett (Michele) of Pavo, GA, grandchildren, Travis Barrett (Suzanne), Jason Barrett (Brandi), Amy Sowell (Tucker), Blake Barrett (Ashton), Travis Williams, Jr. (Samantha), and Amber Humphries (Brian), 11 Great-Grandchildren, brothers, Robert Barrett of Ochlocknee, GA & Randall Barrett (Jeannette) of Cairo, GA, sister, Paulette Williams (Lavon) of Cairo, GA, and sister-in-law, Mary Barrett of Cairo, GA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Oren Tucker (Earl) and a brother, Tracy Barrett.
