Robert "Bobby" Adkins

Robert "Bobby" Adkins, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019. He was 60.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 5-7 pm and at other times the family will be at the home of Kim Cunningham, 212 Tracie Lane, Headland, AL.

Mr. Adkins was born on December 23, 1958 in Dothan and lived here most of his life. He was a 1977 graduate of Dothan High School. Mr. Adkins was employed in the automotive industry with Taylor Parts and later with Car Quest for more than 30 years. He lived in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba from 2007-2013 and worked in the parts supply business until his retirement and relocated to Dothan. Mr. Adkins loved cars and especially enjoyed tinkering with his Jeep and taking long rides with his dog. He was a jokester and never met a stranger. Mr. Adkins enjoyed cooking and loved to fish. Mr. Adkins was a longtime member of the Dothan Elks Lodge and was the former exalted ruler.

Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Victoria Paquette "Vicki" Adkins in 2010.

Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer (Brandon) Apida and Kim (Shaun) Cunningham; his 5 granddaughters, Briley Cunningham, Paylin Cunningham, Maddox Cunningham, Hadley Apida, and Kylie Apida; his mother, Betty Bredemus; his sister, Laura (Harold) Mulkey; several brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and his K-9 companion, Sally also survives.
