George E. Plantz, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 23, in Naples FL.
Born November 28, 1935, in Enola, he was the son of the late Morris & Viola Plantz. He is survived by his wife Tina (Bixler), 2 sons, Josh (wife Berta), Davie FL and Austin, Harrisburg; 2 grandsons, Noah and Cooper and 2 brothers, Gale, Lancaster and Donald, Enola.
A graduate of Enola HS and York College, he served in the US Army and retired from 271st PA Air National Guard; George was also retired from former Fleet Material Support Office (FMSO), working as a civilian for the Navy. George was selfless, always willing to lend a hand, with a smile and a good joke. George was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, the Mechanicsburg Club and the Elks Lodge #2010 (Naples FL).
A memorial service will be held at his church on Friday, April 26 at 11AM, friends and family will be received from 9AM to start of service. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap following the service. In George's memory, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church building fund (216 S. Market St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055). www.pennlive.com/obits
