She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas and was of the Baptist faith.
She was previously employed with Phipps Cleaning Service for more than 30 years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Luther and Shirley Ann Carter.
Survivors include her loving husband of more than 43 years, Earl Clayton, of Menlo, Ga.; children, Ernest Luther Clayton, of Menlo, Ga., Madonna Lashell Clayton, of Rossville, Ga. and Jasmine Suggs, of Menlo, Ga.; sisters, Sharon Elaine Yates, of Rossville, Ga. and Becky Carter, of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Amber Nicole Pemberton and Amanda Nicole Clayton; and numerous extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2016, in Ford Family Cemetery in Trenton, Ga., with Rev. Richard Earl Howard officiating.
