Bernard J. Robertson, formerly of Holley, died March 13 at the age of 95.
He was born July 12, 1923 in Holley to Jesse and Minnie Robertson and was a lifetime resident of this area.
Bernie was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Submarine Campaign from 1940-1945. He also worked as an experienced lens assembler for Bausch and Lomb in Rochester. He exited the corporate workforce and started and ran a successful plumbing and heating business, servicing Orleans County for his remaining years. Mr. Robertson was predeceased by his wife Ruby.
He is survived by his son, Russell (Louise) Robertson of Holley; his grandson, Jeffrey (Candace) Robertson of Albion; niece, Susan (Thomas) Persia of Clarendon; nephew, Roy Robertson; as well as several cousins.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Bernie’s Graveside Service, Monday at 2 p.m. in the Mt. Albion Cemetery, Veteran’s Companion Section.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Orleans County, 16 West Academy Street #33, Albion, New York, 14411, the Arc of Genesee Orleans, 122 Caroline Street, Albion, New York, 14411 or Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, New York, 14411.
