Julius Gottlieb Trager was born July 4, 1878 in LaSalle, ILL, the son of Carl and Emilie Fndrei Traeger. When a small child he came with his parents to Jefferson County, NE, where he continued to reside.
In 1900 he married Miss Grace Junker and to them four sons were born, Carl, now of Kenesaw, NE, Fred of Los Angeles, CA, Christian of Fairbury, NE and a son who died in infancy. Mrs. Traeger preceded him in death.
In 1912 he married Grace McClay and to them one daughter, Myrl, of Fairbury, was born.
He joined the Christian Church in Fairbury, May 9, 1915. He worked in Jefferson County Shops for many years, and the past six years has been employed at the Fairbury Auto Parts and Machine Shop.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and one daughter; three brothers, Otto Traeger of Gilead, Carl Traeger of McGraw, Mrs. Floyd Feith and Mrs. Charles Ritzhaupt, all of Fairbury and two grandchildren, Donald and Sharon Traeger.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Traum's Chapel with Rev. F. H. Stephenson, pastor of the Christian Church, officiating. Burial in the Fairbury Cemetery.
