Susan Fritz Alderman, age 63, of Plain City, died peacefully, Monday, April 15, 2019 at Memorial Gables with her husband by her side. She was a former vice president of information at Select Sires in Plain City where she was an associate for 23 years. Most recently, she was a substitute teacher throughout central Ohio, but primarily at St. John’s Lutheran School and Fairbanks schools. A 1973 graduate of Adams-Friendship High School in Friendship, Wisconsin, she received a bachelor’s degree in dairy science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Upon graduation from college, she began her career with Select Sires in East Lansing, Michigan. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening and traveling. For many years, she was a dairy cow show judge at many fairs and competitions throughout the country. She will be especially remembered for her outgoing and bright personality. She liked being involved in her community, with 4-H and the Union County Fair. She was born June 7, 1955 in Portage, Wisconsin. She grew up on her family’s dairy farm outside of Wisconsin Dells. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Fritz. Susan is survived by her husband of 32 years, Doug Alderman, whom she married June 28, 1986 in Mauston, Wisconsin; her daughter, Stacy (Josh Litwin) Alderman of Sunbury; her son, Jimmy Alderman of Marysville; her mother, Ruthann Jensen Fritz of Adams, Wisconsin; her siblings, Charles (Betty) Fritz of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, Robert Fritz of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin and Roberta (Kim) Ritchhart of Friendship, Wisconsin; her brothers-in-law, Jack (Mary Stuart) Alderman of Hilton Head, South Carolina and William Alderman of Santa Cruz, California; her nephews and nieces, Brian (Ali) Fritz, Keith (Mary Ann) Fritz, Jessie Fritz, Jennifer Decorah, Chris Gorder, Alix (Chad Zimmerman) Alderman, David Alderman, Eleanor Alderman, Tom (Jackie) Alderman, Kyle Alderman and Ashley Alderman; great nieces and nephews, Ozzie, Grayson, Caleb and Caleah; her children’s Godparents, Jim and Gloria Butler; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home. Rev. Jacob Heino will officiate funeral services to be held 12 noon Saturday, April 20, 2019 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Darby Township.
