Donnie was a "jack of all trades" doing anything from construction work to heavy equipment operator with the Covington County Commissioners, where he retired after 20 plus years of service. Donnie was an avid fisherman and hunter spending many hours in the lakes , ponds, fields and woods of south Alabama and northwest Florida, catching large mouth bass and chasing white tailed deer.
Donnie is preceded in death by parents, Clayton and Bessie Hammons Jackson;
two daughters, Donna Sue Jackson and Susan Renee Phillips. one brother,James Jackson
Donnie is survived by wife of 64 years, one son, and 5 grandchildren,and 9 great grandchildren one sister,
Funeral 3:00pm, Monday, April 15, 2019, at Evans Funeral Home, with Ray Bundy officiating.
Visitation: one hour before service.
Interment: in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
