On April 15, 2019, Orissa Jolley Hirschi, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her Las Vegas home.
Orissa was born July 25, 1927, in Cedar City, Utah, to Nephi Manning Jolley and Bertha Butler Robinson.
She married Howard Garn Hirschi on November 19, 1945, in the Manti Temple.
Orissa was loved by all and touched many lives as she focused on her family, served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
She spent many years doing family history and temple work.
Her life’s work was an example to us all.
Orissa is survived by her six children:
Kathern (Thom) Taylor,
Sallie (Jim) Hughes,
Terrie (Mike) Baldwin,
Neil (Teresa) Hirschi,
Cindy (David) Rice,
Troy (Lisa) Hirschi,
and 29 grandchildren,
68 great-grandchildren,
and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Garn Hirschi, and 2 grandchildren.
The viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Alta and Jones Chapel located at 6100 Alta Dr., Las Vegas, Nevada.
The internment will be held in Cedar City, Utah, on Monday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m.
