Elmer O. Foster Sr., 71, Logansport died Wednesday, September 7, 1977, reportedly of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his garage. Born September 29, 1905, in Carroll County, he was the son of Scyhlur and Ella Jane McKinney Foster. He was married March 5, 1926, to Rachael Battering. He was a retired driver for Courier-Newsom and a member of Eagles Lodge.

Surviving with the wife are four sons; a daughter; one brother and three sisters; Leonard Foster; Mrs. Anna West, Mrs. Frona Quinn and Mrs. Nina Millman, all of Logansport; and several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at Logansport and interment was in Rock Creek Cemetery.
