WILLIAM ELKINS
(1912-1995)

William Creighton Elkins, 83, of Wurtland, Ky., died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, at home.

Born March 10, 1912, in Letcher County, Ky., a son of the late Bill and Mary Mullins Elkins, he was a retired coal miner from the Beth-Elkhorn Coal Company and a member of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Mary L. Elkins; four sons, John M. Elkins of Hollister, Fla., Billy W. Elkins of Myra, Ky., Gary C. Elkins of Lloyd, Ky., and Dennis Elkins of Richmond, Ky.; two daughters, Patricia M. Elkins of Baxter, Tenn., and Wilma Montjoy of Raceland, Ky.; two brothers, Percy Elkins of London, Ky., and George Elkins of Badenton, Fla.; a sister, Nona M. Justice of Wise, Va.; 29 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a son, Harold D. Elkins.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church, with interment in Siloam Cemetery at South Shore, Ky.

Friends may call at the church after 6 p.m. Monday, all day Tuesday and until the services Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ashland (Ky.) Community Hospice.
