Lawrence C. Baker, age 96, of Marshall, died Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Gill Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara “Bobbi” Cadwell (Bill) of rural Sweet Springs; four grandchildren: Cara Wisler (Robert), Tim Stone (Sarah), Joe Baldwin, and Arti Dautenhahn (Stephanie); two step grandchildren; Wally Dautenhahn and Wanda Dautenhahn; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Noah Baker and Lola Davis Baker; and wife, Ida Bell Petty; Lawrence was preceded in death by 11 siblings: Earl, Mary, Doris, Dorothy, Amos, Norman, and Alva Baker, Mary Frain, Lillian Bryan, Ruth Herndon, and Velma Bacon.

Lawrence C. Baker, 96, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, April 7, 2019, at The Living Center in Marshall.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Gill Memorial Baptist Church and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com



Born November 5, 1922, in Thomasville, MO, he was the son of the late Noah Baker and Lola Davis Baker. Lawrence lived in Saline County his entire life and was a 1941 graduate of Marshall High School. On September 22, 1945, in Lawrence, KS, he married Ida Bell Petty who preceded him in death on March 2, 2009. Lawrence retired in 1981 as an area foreman with DeKalb, having worked there for 30 years. He was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church.
