Noah Dougherty, sixty-eight years old, died at his home southeast of Bremen at 12:35 oclock on Sunday afternoon. He had been ill for several months after suffering a paralytic stroke.
Mr. Dougherty was a lifelong resident of this community. He was born December 29, 1878. His parents wee Ephraim and Catherin Dougherty. On February 21, 1906, he married Laura Berger who survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Miss Esther Dougherty at home; a son, Noble Dougherty of Limon, Colorado; and a half sister, Mrs. Edward Johnson of Bremen. Two grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Dougherty had served three terms as a member of the county council. At the time of his death he was county commissioner from the first district. He was an active member of the Ebenezer E. U. B. church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Salem E. U. B. church, Bremen. Rev. E. G. Johnson, pastor of Ebenezer church, officiated, assisted by Rev. E. C. Kunce of Dunlap. Burial was in the Bremen cemetery.
