Lawrence James “Larry” Morris, 67, of Elkton, passed away April 5, 2019 in Luray. Mr. Morris was born February 4, 1952 in Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Charles Alfred Morris and Sarah Parkinson. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lee “Dick” Morris.

Mr. Morris was a member of the Upper Room Church in Elkton, and attended Mt. Olivet Church in McGaheysville. He retired from Donnelly, and also worked as carpenter/roofer. He enjoyed watching western movies and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by one son, James D. Morris and wife, Melinda of Shenandoah; two daughters, Terri L. Merica and husband, Keith of Elkton, Deana K. Harman and husband, Doodle of McGaheysville; brothers Charles “Bill” Morris and wife Karen of Elkton, Johnny Richard Morris and wife Annette of Stanley; sisters, Rose Lam and husband, Billy, Amanda Kern Samuels, Lucille Shifflett and husband, Allen, Darlene Morris all of Elkton, Sarah Samuels of Shenandoah; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pastor Larry Jent will conduct the funeral service 2 pm on Tuesday, April 9th, 2019 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Elk Run Cemetery.
