Hilda Mae Shoaf Wilson
1935 - 2019

Early Life: Hilda was born November 11, 1935, in North Carolina, to Arvil Cletus and Myrtle Fallie Cope Shoaf, the oldest of four children. At an early age, Hilda mothered her three younger siblings, and took full responsibility in her family of origin.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On December 20, 1959, Hilda married William "Charles" Wilson in Lexington, North Carolina. They joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 23, 1966, and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on December 14, 1972, being companions for 59 years. Hilda earned a BA degree from Southern Wesleyan University of South Carolina in 1958, teaching third grade the following year. Always a hard worker, she was employed at North Carolina Job Service 1½ years and also fostered over 70 children. Mostly, she was a domestic engineer for her family. Her focus was always on her family. Always wishing to do her very best, Hilda leaves an eternal legacy of honesty, love for all people, and a strong work ethic. Also, she saw beauty in everything, having a love for her flowers, swans, birds, butterflies, and all things chocolate.
