"Funeral services for Berthena Hearne Bennett, of Waskom, will be Saturday at Old Border Baptist Church, in Jonesville, with the Rev. W.H. Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Old Border Cemetery, in Jones, under direction of Lewis Funeral. Mrs. Bennett died Friday, December 26, 1986, at her home. She was born October 6, 1902, in Harrison County, the daughter of Charlie Hearne and Millie Higgs Hearne. She attended Harrison County public schools, was a homemaker, and was a member of Old Border Baptist Church, in Jonesville. Survivors include her husband, Preston Bennett; two sons, Lurie Davis, of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Tommie Haley, of Beaumont; two daughters, Adell Mack, of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Thelma Williams, of Beaumont; 14 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren."
Arrangements were under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home.
