Charlie Richard Adams, born in Brookston, Texas on January 21, 1930 and passed away on December 24, 2018 in Rusk, Texas. He was born to parents Charlie Edward and Susie Mae Adams. Charlie had 4 brothers and 2 sisters; all now deceased.
He was born during the Great Depression and worked for the railroad at the age of 13 to help support his family. He retired from the City of Dallas after 33 1/2 years of service. Despite the loss of his wife, he spent the remainder of his years making lots of new friends and enjoying the time he had at the Angelina House in Rusk, Texas. He participated in many activities there and performed chair dancing at other locations with a group of fellow seniors. He got a kick out of the fact that he was the only male participant in the chair dancing group. He was even voted the King of Valentine's Day in 2018. He also played games and enjoyed winning items for his room and gifts for other people. He truly enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and loved camping and fishing. And he loved his family and friends very much. Charlie loved his family and friends and was considered to be a great man and was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.
Charlie was married to Ada Adams for more than 60 years before she passed away in 2012. He is survived by 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren.
Charlie's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 at the Gaston Oaks Christian Center in Dallas beginning at 2pm. The address to the church is 8515 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243
