Loretta Yargus Allen, 75, of Marshall, IL passed away Sunday, March 10, 1019 while on vacation at Sarasota, FL. Prior to her retirement she had held accounting positions with various organizations. Her last employment was as an agent for Combined Insurance. Loretta was born Sept. 5, 1943 at Charleston, IL, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Patricia M. Madigan Yargus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louella Casteel and husband, LaDonne Mitchell. Surviving are a sister, Linda (Rick) Hardway of Petersburg, IL; two brothers, Larry (Jenny Higginbotham) Yargus and Lyle Yargus both of Marshall; nieces and nephews, Christina Hardway, Tricia Hardway, Joe A. Hardway, Anne Sheehy, Catherine Shaffer, Margaret Steward, Matthew Yargus and Adam Yargus; great nieces and nephews, Jonah Fried, Eliza Fried, Ava Hardway, Drew Hardway, Keil Roberts, Ella Roberts, Benjamin Sheehy, Tommy Sheehy, Rose Shaffer, Patrick Shaffer, Riley Newlin and twin great nieces on the way. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Marshall and had been a member of the Clark County Optimist Club. She was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University , loved to travel, read and especially loved to garden. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon Friday, April 12th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Augustine Koomson as celebrant. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM Friday at Pearce Funeral Home.
