Mr. James N. Logsdon, age 74 years, of Jefferson City, MO, died Wednesday, January 14, 2004, at St. Marys Health Center. Mr. Logsdon was born October 25, 1929, at Sturgeon, MO, the son of Sylvester and Rena Rouse Logsdon, both deceased. He was married on December 1, 1951 at Jefferson City, MO, to Jean Bailey who survives at the home.
A life-long resident of the Central Missouri area, Mr. Logsdon attended Centralia High School, Centralia, MO. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Logsdon was employed as the bar manager of the Jefferson City Country Club for over thirty-one years prior to his retirement on December 31, 1994. He was a member and past Commander of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; a member of the Forty and Eight; and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 2693.
Other survivors include one son: James M. Logsdon and his wife Pamela of Jefferson City, MO; one brother: Lee Logsdon of California, MO; three grandchildren: Michael T. Logsdon, Christopher A. Logsdon, and Kenneth J. Logsdon; and one great granddaughter: Kathryn Logsdon.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Mark Kiekhaefer officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to The James Logsdon Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
