Curtis Jay Anderson was born January 15, 1955 in Hudson, SD, the son of Ray and Mae (Boerrigter) Anderson. He attended the Alcester School K-12. Then he went on to attend the University of South Dakota at Springfield where he continued his love of playing basketball.
Curt married Diana Hanson on July 9th, 1983 in Sioux Falls, SD. They made their home in Alcester, South Dakota. He worked with his dad at the Allis-Chalmers Implement dealership and took over the business. In 1989, he sold the business. A year later, he became employed at Lincoln Union Electric Company which later transitioned into Southeastern Electric Cooperative.
Curt was a member of Nathanael Lutheran Church. He served on the Alcester Commercial Club and City Council for several years. He was an avid Huskers, Duke, and Royals fan. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Curt is survived by his wife, Diana Anderson; daughter Heather (Simon) VanderHelm; son Todd (Cassie) Anderson; grandchildren Wes and Brooke VanderHelm; his siblings Don (Silvia) Anderson, Bob Anderson, Gordon Anderson, Cindy (Lowell) Knutson; Diana’s parents, Derald and Mary Hanson; Diana’s siblings, David (Renee) Hanson, Patty (Jerry) Jones, Bill (Cheryl) Hanson and Dean (Jackie) Hanson; many nieces and nephews; and 2 aunts, Eileen Johnston and Phyllis Boerrigter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ray & Mae Anderson.
