Sarah Frances Lowe Strickland, 91, former resident of Andrews Ave, Greenwood, widow of Jack Edward Strickland, passed away April 1, 2019, at Hope Memory Care in Fayetteville, GA.
Born April 7, 1927, in Union, she was a daughter of the late Charles Clarence “C.C” and Anna Margaret Kirby Lowe.
She was a 1943 graduate of Greenwood High School and was a graduate of the Greenwood College of Commerce. Mrs. Strickland retired as the Director of Benefits from the Executive Offices of Greenwood Mills.
A member of West Side Baptist Church, she was a former Sunday School teacher in the Children’s Department and served on several committees of the church and was a member of the Mother’s Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Anne Easler and husband Dennis of Peachtree City, GA; a sister, Jo Lewis of Chester; two granddaughters, Amy Walls and husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant, and Catherine O’Donnell and husband Keith of Cummings, GA; six great-grandchildren, Noah Walls, Olivia O’Donnell, Jackson O’Donnell, Caroline Walls, Lauren O’Donnell and Owen O’Donnell.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Frances Strickland, a sister, Helen Ruth Pearson and a brother, Guy C. Lowe.
Private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
