CAVIN
John M. Cavin was born in Tennessee June 7, 1826, and departed this life April 28, 1899.
He united with the United Brethern Church many years ago and later met with the Methodist church. He had been in poor health for a long time, and was waiting for the summons to his heavenly home. Two sisters survive—one in California and Mrs. M. A. Strurdivant, of Bonaparte. Five children remain, but live at a distance. His son, Thomas Cavin, of Prescott, Iowa, was present at the funeral services. These were held at the residence of his sister, Mrs. M. A. Sturdivant, conducted by Rev. W. H. Scofield, after which occurred the interment at the Houlsworth cemetery.
