Death of Joe Caven - Joe Caven died suddenly of heart trouble at his home in Cawker on Wednesday evening April 20th. He was 68 years of age. Mr. Caven had lived in and near Portis at various times and was well known here. He was the father of Mrs. Dave Coop ... and the other children are Ira of Salina and Mrs. Laura Hellman of Cawker. The wife also survives. Another son, Walter died during the World War. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at Crystal Plains and burial was in the cemetery there.

He married Margaret Coop-Shipman in 1898 in Davis county, Iowa.
