Debra Lavone Price, 51, of Kansas City, passed away on March 28, 2019.

She was born on December 17, 1967 to James and Gloria Price in Ottawa, Kansas.

Debra moved with her family to many different locations starting with a move to St Charles Missouri in 1972, to Russellville, Arkansas in 1974 and to Gardner, Kansas in 1977. Following her graduation from Gardner-Edgerton High School in 1986 She worked for the Mortgage Banking company MetMor Financial.

After several years with the banking industry she decided she wanted to try something different and wanted to be her own boss. She studied at the Massage Therapy Training Institute and after graduation became a licensed Massage Therapist.

After a few years she went through training to become part of a support team for Olympic Athletes. She began accompanying athletes to the Olympic games in Atlanta, Ga, Athens, Greece, Sydney Australia, Beijing China and Vancouver, Canada. She really enjoyed her work with the Para Olympic Athletes.

She also was the team massage therapist for the Kansas City Wizards Soccer team for several years and traveled with them for winter training to South Africa, Rio, and several other countries. She enjoyed traveling and was able to see much of the world with the Olympic teams and her position with the Wizard Soccer team.

Debbie was a people person and never saw a stranger. She is mourned by friends from all around the world.

Her last job was with Creative Supports of Kansas City, where she was caregiver to two young men that she dearly loved.

She leaves to mourn her passing her parents, Jim and Gloria Price, brother, Rodney Price and wife Tracy, two nieces Taylor and husband Justin Chaney and Carley Lintz and nephew, the Golden Child (that is what she called him) Connor James Price, grand nieces: Layla Baker and Natalie Chaney, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Uhel and Maxine Cullison and James and Joan Price.

She attended and enjoyed Metro Christian Fellowship Church.

A gathering will be held Wednesday, April 10 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at McGilley and Frye Funeral Home, 105 E., Loula St., Olathe, KS 66061. A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10:30am at the funeral home.
