Donnie Lee Campbell, 79, of Mount Crawford, passed on to get his wings on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lurty and Ruby Thomas Campbell; two sisters, Geneva Lambert and Edna Campbell; and a brother, Everette Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita Lee Campbell of Mount Crawford; three daughters, Donna Campbell and companion, Timmy Craig, of Staunton, Cindy Lash and her husband, Rick, of Mount Crawford, and Melanie Drumheller and her husband, Greg, of Grottoes; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Heerman and Doris Washington; two brothers, Ray Campbell and Junior Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served his country in the United States Air Force before joining the city of Harrisonburg, where he retired as shop foreman after 37 years of service. Those who had the honor of meeting him knew that he never met a stranger and never missed a yard sale.

The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home, Harrisonburg. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren with Pastors Dan King and Eric Campbell officiating. A private family burial will follow.
