Mr. Franklin Dewitt Scott 68, of 307 Talley Street, Troutman, was born on June 10, 1949, to Camilla Dye Scott, and the late Dewitt Scott. He departed this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at his residence. Franklin will truly be missed.
Mr. Scott attended the Iredell County Schools and was employed with the Department of Transportation, He attended the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church in Statesville. Mr. Scott enjoyed his co -workers at Troutman Tire & Auto, and the "River Rat Boys". He was a master of "Swap and Trade", picking up junk.
In addition to his father, Dewitt Scott, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Scott and Beverly Scott, both of Troutman.
Franklin leaves to cherish the memories of his life, in addition to his mother, Camilla Dye Scott, of Troutman; a brother, Dennis Scott, of Troutman; an aunt, Mary Morrison, of Baltimore, MD; a special cousin, Mary Walker; a host of cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Friday, April 20, 2018, 1:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, Statesville, N.C. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 12-1:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of Dennis Scott, 311 Talley Street, Troutman, at other times. Rutledge and Bigham is serving the family of Franklin Dewitt Scott.
