Benjamin Owings, An Invalid, Passes Away. Benjamin Owings, aged sixty-nine years, for many years an invalid died this morning at four o'clock at the home of his son, Charles Owings, brakeman for the Big Four, living at 717 Prairie Avenue. The remains will be taken on Sunday morning to Charleston to the home of his son Harry Owings, where funeral services are to be held. Burial will be made in Mound cemetery, Charleston. In addition to the two sons, Charles and Harry; there survive a son, Samuel Owings, employed as a fireman on the Big Four, and a widow. Mr. and Mrs. Owings had only recently removed to Mattoon from Charleston.
