Anthony was in the battle of Stono 13 Feb 1779 under Cap Thomas and Col John Thomas of which Regiment James Lusk was adjutant, Battell of Kings Mountain, then onto Siege of Augusta under Col Elijah Clarke, next to Siege of Ninety Six under Gen Greene, afterwards at the Battle of the Cowpens under Morgan with 17th and the 18th of January 1781. In 1832 Anthony was asked to speak at the celebration Greenville SC newspaper "The Mountaineer" January 25, 1835. Quoting A. Crocker (Revolutionary Soldier) "The Cowpens--where 54 years ago, we freed the south from British Tyranny: and if any should attempt to oppress us again we will put them into Bullpens."
