Her funeral will be 1:30 PM Monday afternoon, March 25, 2019, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service on Monday. Mrs. Dawkins was born July 12, 1930, in Pamplico, SC, a daughter of Walter James Jones and Marie Barineau Jones Driggers. She was a member of the Pineview Terrace Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years, and later became a member of the Prayer Chapel Ministries. Mrs. Dawkins enjoyed writing poetry, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also a former employee of the Berchador Coliseum Daycare Center, and she was previously married to the late Weldon A. Parrott.
Surviving are, her husband, Richard P. Dawkins; two daughters, Tracie Robertson of Hartsville, and Terrie A. Turner and her husband, Derrol, of Goose Creek; four stepchildren, James Dawkins and Carolyn Dawkins both of Goose Creek, Sybil Dawkins of N. Charleston, and Mary Schneider of Hanahan; four sisters, Lola Crawford of Coward, Hazel Meeks of Morganton, NC, Nell Bush of Murrells Inlet, and Clarice Cotton of Durham, NC; two brothers, Billy Driggers and his wife, Sue, and Harry Driggers and his wife, Lucille, all of Effingham; three grandchildren, Katherine Bradish, Anthony "Tony" Doxey, III, and Andrew L. McElvogue; and one great grandchild, Hayden Bradish.
