The Ledger Independent
MAYSVILLE — Roger Thomas Cline, 85, of Maysville, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

The happiest years of his life were spent with the love of his life, Dean Thomas Cline, who passed away Oct. 27, 2006.

Roger was born Feb. 19, 1934, to the late Hazel Wilson Cline and William F. Cline.

Mr. Cline is survived by his children Debbie (Mike) Lewis, Lu Ann (Bob Poe) Doyle and Mark (Lindsay) Cline. He deeply loved all of his grandchildren including Valerie (Shawn) Saunders, Keith (Tammie Roush) Browning, Mandy (Will Richards) Lewis, Leslie (Steven Sprigler) Doyle, Sarah (Jeremy) Hampton, Tiffiney (Chad) Smith-Cracraft, Hailey (Matt Morgan) Cline, and Isabella Cline. He is survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

Roger graduated Maysville High School in 1953 and continued his education at various colleges and industrial centers with an emphasis on manufacturing. He began his professional career at the age of 19 with Browning Manufacturing (later Emerson) where he proudly served 46 years, retiring in 1999. During his employment, Roger participated in all aspects of the manufacturing process including hands-on machine operation, manufacturing supervision, and later leading SealMaster, a division of Emerson in Morehead, as their plant manager. While working at Emerson, he was responsible for the development and creation of new and improved manufacturing methods and processes still in use today. Following his retirement, he worked as a manufacturing consultant for corporations across the country including Stober Drives.

Roger loved spending his private time with his family and supporting Baptist churches throughout the region, working with Gideons International for over 16 years. In later years, he enjoyed helping senior citizens in need of assistance. After caring for his wife, Dean, through her courageous battles with cancer, Roger became aware of the many difficulties people face when confronting chronic medical conditions. Since then, he has been dedicated to helping his friends and family find solutions to these problems, assisting with procurement of medications at an affordable cost and providing vital information to allow them to obtain the medical assistance they need.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dean; twin daughters, Lisa and Leslie Cline; granddaughter, Sophia Cline; and his only sibling, Howard Edward Cline.

Services are under the direction of Knox and Brothers Funeral Home with visitation to begin at 1 p.m., on Sunday, March 24, followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m.

Burial will immediately follow the service in Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Honorary pallbearers for Mr. Cline’s services include Gaylord Middleton, Randy Mason, Louis Browning, Russell Robinson, Allen Pollitt, Louis Jefferson, Ray Helton and Bob Biddle. Pallbearers will be Keith Browning, Ashley Cline, Andrew Cline, Mark Craft, Bob Poe and Mike Lewis.

We ask that memorials be made to Hospice of Hope in honor of our parents.

Our greatest prayer is that our dad and mom are happily enjoying eternity, together once again.
