Roy Arthur Hanson, age 87, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. He was born in Chicago, IL on November 8, 1931, to Arthur and Anna Hanson. He spent his childhood in Des Plains, Illinois.

He passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family and friends.

After graduating high school he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War where he was stationed at White Sands NM. Honorably discharged he attended and graduated from Devry University in Chicago earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduating he married and took a job at Sandia National Laboritories as a quality engineer. He retired from SNL after 35 years of service.

During his life he loved playing fast pitch softball and coaching his sons baseball teams. He was the foundation of his family supporting his family without question. He had a passion restoring classic Mustangs and motorcycles, passions that his children and grandchildren maintain. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary, his children, William and wife Donna, Nancy and husband Michael, Robert and wife Kimberlee. His grandchildren, John Michael, Taryn and wife Lindsey, Adrian and wife Amanda, Kylie and his great granddaughter Brooklyn Ann.
