Laura Jane (Sinclair) Snider, 91, of Casey, IL, died at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Simple Blessings in Casey, IL. She was born October 6, 1927 in Phoenix, AZ, the daughter of Arthur B. & Lora (Weger) Sinclair, both of whom preceded her in death.

She married Marion J. Snider on October 9, 1948 and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Sara Butcher; and by her sister, Gwendolyn Weger.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Sherri & Tony Butcher (Casey, IL); by her granddaughters, LeeAnn & Nate Gilbert, Lara & Brock Athey; by her great-grandchildren, Grey Gilbert, Sage Gilbert, Maize Gilbert, Sara Athey, Rhett Athey, June Athey, and Olive Athey; by her brother-in-law, Charles Snider; by her sisters-in-law, Marjorie & Bill Thompson (Columbia, TN) and Ruby & Larry Myer (Robinson, IL); as well as several cousins and a host of friends.

Though the first few years of her life were spent in Phoenix, her family moved back to the Flat Rock area following the death of her father. Here, she would eventually become a staple of the Ohio Oil and Flat Rock Worth Companies, where she worked as a beloved secretary for a number of years.

She was also a longtime and active member of the Flat Rock First Missionary Baptist Church. She was diligent in securing and keeping the records and history of the church for the celebration of its 100th Anniversary in March of 2016. She also attended Casey First Christian Church in Casey, IL since moving to the area a few years ago.

On September 20, 1938, she gave her heart to the Lord. We have peace in knowing that today, Laura Jane Snider’s faith has been made sight.
