Doris Ethel Burgau, passed away March 17th, 2019. She was born in Lisbon, ND, March 7, 1927, to Harold and Emma Wells, the fifth of ten children. She married Roger Burgau in Vallejo, California August 8th, 1945. They moved back to Sebeka in November 1945, where they resided on the farm, raising 14 children.
Roger passed away, January 20, 1986, Doris sold the farm and moved to Sebeka in 1989 where she resided until her death.
Doris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Doris and Roger were very active in the Moonlight Trail Rider’s Saddle Club which sponsored the Fall Huntersville Trail Ride for 37 years. Doris was an active member of the Cat Creek Missionary Society, County Extension group for many years, helped her children through many years with a Young Peoples group and 4-H Club to include county and state fairs exhibits.
Doris enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, most of all cooking and baking. She loved spending time with family and friends playing cards, dice and games. Her most cherished gift were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Doris not only worked at home but also worked many years as a cook for Sebeka School.
