Prochnow
William A. Prochnow, 64, of Rt. 2, Kiel, died Wednesday night at Maple Creek Sanitorium where he had been a patient two months.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Untied Brethren Church of Spring Valley, the Rev. Merlin Huebachman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Prochnow was born July 17, 1898 in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Gustave and Amelia Kohls Prochnow. He married Lena Lutzke May 15, 1919, at Trinity Lutheran Chruch, Town of Liberty. The Prochnows operated farms until their retirement in 1949.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Lester of Honolulu, Hawaii, and William Jr., of San Marcos, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Preuss of Oconto Falls, Mrs. Elwood Gutschow of Rt. 1, Valders, and Mrs. Don Greibenow of New London; two brothers, Charles of Manitowoc and Elmer of Reedsville; three sisters, Mrs. William Toebe of Green Bay, MRs. Eda Schwabe of Manitowoc and Mrs. Elbert Riemer of Sheboygan; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Christianson Funeral home, St. Nazianz, until noon Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
