A Flying Officer (sn: 129166), Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, serving as a Navigator with 68 Squadron RAF. He died, aged 31 years old, when his aircraft (Beaufighter IF; R2148; WM-T,) spun from low cloud into a sandpit off Cliff Road, Cromer. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Gordon Thompson Langley was also killed.

Husband of Peggy K W (née Simpson) Reade, of Stamford Brook, London. Son of William Comer Reade and Nellie Marie (née Morling) Reade, of Aldeburgh.
